 4-Legged Friends Pet Services, LLC prides itself in providing top notch in-home pet care and dog training services.  It was established in March of 2007 when Katie Ervin, the owner of 4-Legged Friends Pet Services, LLC, moved to Hagerstown with her husband Bryan and their fur babies to offer area residents and their companions a necessary and unique alternative to boarding.  Our goal is to provide pet families the benefits that in-home pet care and dog training have to offer.  4-Legged Friends Pet Services, LLC prides itself with going above and beyond client expectations. 

Katie Ervin opened 4-Legged Friends Pet Services, LLC out of a lifelong passion and love for animals.  Shortly, after graduating from college with a BA in psychology and BS in business Katie began to explore additional educational opportunities that would allow her to follow her dream of working with animals.

Katie has experience both professionally and personally caring for and training pets.  She spent a large part of her childhood caring for the family pets, taking care of the neighbors pets, nursing injured animals, bringing home stray cats, training and competitively showing horses, and setting up agility obstacles in the backyard for the family beagle to master.  Over the past ten plus years she has spent her free time caring for and training shelter animals and has fifteen plus years training dogs using positive reinforcement based approaches.  In addition Katie has several years experience instructing group dog training classes. 

Katie is currently owned by Miss Molly, a Cocker Spaniel, Harley, a Hound mix, Brooklyn, a Shepherd mix, and four cats Cuddle Bug, Sorry Boots, Ozzy & Harry.  Katie believes that training should be fun for both the human and the pet.  Miss Molly at the age of thirteen continues to enjoy learning new tricks.  She was awarded the 2008 Washington County My Dog Can Do That Champion title and has also been seen on TV doing her tissue box trick.  Among some of her other favorite tricks are putting away her toys and saying her prayers.  Harley enjoys spending time with Katie competing in APDT Rally and they are both newbies to the sport of Canine Freestyle.  Harley has earned his ARCHEX title amongst several others in addition to being nationally recognized in 2009.  Harley also really loves doing Nosework with Katie and always looks forward to the next class. Brooklyn also enjoys competing in APDT Rally and was nationally recognized in the puppy category although Brooklyn's passion lies in learning and mastering the agility obstacles.  Sorry Boots too enjoys clicker training and he is currently looking for a venue to participate in.
